New DDP shared storage products at NAB 2024

Ardis Technologies presents NVMe SAN, portable SAN, and high availability scale-out SAN shared storage solutions for demanding M&E workflows

At NAB, Dutch manufacturer Ardis Technologies will showcase its newest DDP products, DDP10EF and HSmicroDDP25GbE, as well as its Dual HA DDP Head, a redundant, high-availability scale-out SAN solution that can be combined with third-party storage arrays.

The DDP10EF is an NVMe storage solution with 40GB/s RAID-protected throughput and up to 300TB NVMe SSD capacity. It is ideal for companies looking for a shared storage solution that can handle any film, video and audio format now and for years to come. The DDP10EF comes as a 1U base system with NVMe flash storage with fast CPUs and a dual 100GbE/QSFP28 card installed. It can be used standalone, clustered, or combined with DDP SAS storage arrays.

The DDP10EF

It easily handles streams from 8K, DPX to the lowest video and audio formats, standalone or with additional storage arrays attached. On Windows and Linux workstations, bandwidth can be up to 10 GB/s when using NVMe-oF/RDMA and up to 2,5 GB/s when using iSCSI. Both protocols can be used simultaneously. Currently NVMe-oF/RDMA is not supported on Mac but iSCSI is. Depending on the Mac and using multichannel bandwidth can be beyond 6GB/s.

The HSmicroDDP25GbE is a 1U, 19 inch, 11 LBS (5Kg), small, shared storage server with hot swappable SSDs and power supply. Bandwidth on writing and reading is as high as 1.2GB/s. It is an ideal choice for rental companies and broadcasters looking for a reliable, robust small solution for transferring secured media between sites where work needs to be done immediately. The two SSDs are mirrored  (two-pack) with a capacity of up to 30.72TB. It comes with dual 10/25GbE/SFP28 and eight 1GbE/RJ45 ports included.

The Dual HA DDP Head is a high availability (HA) SAN solution running the AVFS file system. AVFS is a parallel scale-out HA-SAN file system that integrates storage arrays under a single directory tree. AVFS is developed specially for M & E and has a unique file-based caching mechanism built-in to maximize storage efficiency and minimize costs. It can manage storage arrays connected with Ethernet, NVMe-oF/RDMA, FC, InfiniBand and combinations of these.
